They say there are 50 different Eskimo words for “snow.” That makes perfect sense to us; snow is their
whole world. Likewise, there are 19 different words for
“off-road bike” in the KTM line. That’s how many models
you could reasonably call trail bikes with the KTM or
Husaberg logo. Makes sense; that’s KTM’s world. Bikes
like the new 250XC-F exemplify how KTM can subdivide a
class into very specific specialties. It’s an off-road racer,
based on the new 250SX-F that Ken Roczen and Marvin
Musquin are riding in the Monster Energy Supercross
Series. It has a motor that was designed new for this year.
The KTM 250XCF-W, on the other hand, is the more trail-oriented model and uses the motor from the last two seasons. Is the new XC a better off-road bike? It all depends
on your definition.
