1979 YAMAHA YZ400 REBUILD
Daryl Hambleton rebuilt the entire machine
and spent considerable effort on the top
end. It was bored to accept an OW426 piston. Daryl leak-checked the entire power-plant to ward off seizures, and they ran a
50-50 race gas mixture to rid the detonation
Renthal Twin Wall handlebars, a Pro
Taper AOF clutch perch and A’ME grips
were the choice components for the
handlebar cockpit zone.
BP gave kudos to the
Race Tech suspension,
claiming it was the
mod on the machine.
He raved about the 400,
praising the smooth
power compared to the
465 he raced last year.
An Xtreme YZ footpeg and a Honda XL
600 shifter courtesy of eBay helped to
take on BP’s size- 13 Sidis.
