Thousands flock to the new and
improved Adelanto Grand Prix
MAVERICKS ADELANTO GP
By Mark Kariya
Whether due to nostalgia or just because it was the first race of the season, thousands turned out for the Mavericks Adelanto Grand Prix
in the outskirts of this Southern California high-desert community a few
hours north of Los Angeles.
It wasn’t the first Adelanto GP, but it was the first one in a while that tried to
recapture the buzz that made it more of an event and not just another race.
It wouldn’t be an Adelanto GP without a waterhole jump, always a spectator favorite.
Chris Bach found it quite a bit different from his usual GNCC fare but enjoyed the
experience, tallying sixth Pro in the AMA West Coast Grand Prix Series feature race.
