2014 250F MOTOCROSS SHOOTOUT
SCREAM FACTOR FIVE
Consider this a year of change.
Yamaha’s redesign took it from last
place in the class to first, even if only
by the very tip of a front knob. The
YZ250F gained power everywhere,
and it remains the lightest and best-suspended bike in its class. The bike
isn’t perfect by any means, and we’re
sure there will be detractors who
complain about its distinctive handling
(just like they complain about the
YZ450F’s), but in this case, they will
be in the minority. The Yamaha’s only
real shortcoming is its limited, late
production run, but riders who are
able to get one won’t be sorry.
If you didn’t wait for the Yamaha
and visited a Kawasaki dealer, don’t
fret. The KX250F came so close to
the Yamaha in the final vote, it could
have been called a tie. The Kawasaki
continues to have everyone’s favorite
motor and nearly unlimited potential.
