2014 250F MOTOCROSS SHOOTOUT
SCREAM FACTOR FIVE
KTM 250SX-F. Price: $7999. Weight without fuel: 231 pounds.
Suzuki RM-Z250. Price: $7599. Weight without fuel: 228
Honda CRF250R. Price: $7599. Weight without fuel: 225
So, how did Suzuki drop from first
to third without making any changes?
In truth, the RM-Z250’s margin of
victory was so slight in the last two
shootouts that Suzuki couldn’t afford
to relax, not even for a year. The Zook
remains one of the best-cornering
bikes you can ride, but that’s not quite
enough to keep it on top anymore.
As for the Honda and KTM, both
are incomplete. The Honda is the best
handling this year and the KTM is the
fastest, but it takes a more well-rounded package to reach the top of this
class. Still, just imagine what would
happen next year if either company
finished the job. Jumping from last to
first seems to be a reoccurring theme
in the ridiculously competitive 250F
