Riding with a shoulder he dislocated in a
pre-run crash a couple weeks before. In
fact, all four JCR guys rode hurt—David
Kamo and teammates Mark Samuels,
Colton Udall and Timmy Weigang waged
a race-long war with KTM, with Honda
coming out on top once more.
Scott Yenzer turns off Boulevard Costero
in Ensenada right after the start in a
journey that would see him and teammates Shihab Alireza, Martin Camp and
Bill Gilbert come away with the Class 40
win and 10th bike overall.
Gerardo “Nino” Rojas barely beats sundown before the big lights go on at JCR
Honda Pit 15, about 700 miles in. He and
teammates Rex Cameron, Mike Johnson,
Francisco Septien and Jason Trubey
completed the race in 22:14: 10 for second in Class 30 and fourth bike overall.
Shane Esposito (shown) was fourth
off the line and hung onto the lead trio
for quite a while. He and teammates
Francisco Arredondo, Ryan Dudek, Chris
Haines, Scott Myers and Brian Pinard
led Class 30 pretty much the entire way,
eventually finishing third bike overall.
They beat the class runners-up by over
an hour and 15 minutes.
