Factory KTM’s Kailub Russell,
long touted as one the heirs to
the GNCC throne, came into
the final event with a miniscule
lead. He overcame adversity and
a minor time penalty to win the
final event and overall championship on his KTM 350XC-F.
A former GNCC champion and the most current National
Enduro champ, Charlie Mullins took it to the wire with his
teammate. Like he said, “Someone has to come in second.”
Husky’s Andrew Delong took home the XC2 event and tallied
a third place in the series. He will be moving up to the big-boy
class next year.
Reigning XC2 Lites champ Jason Thomas battled hard to a fourth in Indiana, but this
couldn’t help him overcome Grant Baylor’s lead and eventual series championship.
KTM’s Maria Forsberg didn’t win (she finished second behind Kacy Martinez), but she
took home the championship and then retired.
