Sometimes really cool bikes just fall from the sky. This Cylinder Works Kawasaki KX270F just appeared in our office one day. We
rode it, loved it and then it was gone. The bike was basically a rolling
display of loosely affiliated companies. Hot Cams, Cylinder Works
and Pivot Works are joined at the hip, so their products naturally
work well together. Other cool things that were on parade are the
Tusk wheels, FMF exhaust and Enzo suspension.
The bike is the sum of some very fast parts and couldn’t help but
be fast itself. Like many big bores, it was a little hard to kick, but if
you moved the kick-starter with any energy at all, it came to life. On
the track, it was nothing short of brilliant. The only thing we really
didn’t like about it was the fact that we couldn’t keep it. Here’s a
look at the machine and the parts from which it came.
