WINS HIS FIRST
In extremely muddy conditions,
Husaberg factory rider Russell Bobbitt
took home his second straight win of
the season at round two of the OMA
Nationals. Bobbitt had grabbed the
holeshot, and from that point on, he
stretched his lead throughout the two-hour-plus race on the eight-mile
course. Bobbitt lapped up to fourth
place by the time he received the
checkered flag and finished three minutes ahead of his closest competitor.
Team AirGroup rider Nick Fahringer
joined Bobbitt on the podium with a
second-place finish. AM/Pro Yamaha
rider Paul Whibley, who is said to be
nursing a bad wrist injury and could
barely hold onto the bike, managed to
finish a very impressive third.
OFF-ROAD RACE REPORT
Fred Andrews Racing Husqvarna rider Andrew
DeLong scored his first-ever Rekluse AMA National
Enduro win at round three of the series in Blackwater,
Texas. DeLong managed to avoid any major problems
and turned in a steady ride on the fast and rocky terrain. Four-time National Enduro champion Russell
Bobbitt made a late-race charge by winning the final
test, but came up six seconds short at the finish.
DeLong’s win marks the first time a Husqvarna-mount-ed rider had won a National Enduro since Fred Hoess
did so in 2003. Husaberg’s Russell Bobbitt ended the
day in second, and Team AirGroup rider Nick Fahringer
Andrew Delong won his first National Enduro at round three
in Blackwater, Texas.
Russell Bobbitt has won the first two
OMA events in 2013.
