Jacob prefers the aluminum ARC folding levers over the Memlon version.
Both the levers and handguards fold in
the event of a crash.

Even in tight, technical sections the FC450 excelled, and test

the stroke. Because of this progression and range of tune-ability, the same fork can be set up for EnduroCross or
rocky terrain riding while also having the ability to set it up
for Supercross. It is a very versatile fork, so much so that
the same fork used by Jacob on his Hare & Hound setup
is used by top MX and SX riders (with a different setting, of
The shock is the WP TRAX shock, which again is the
A-Kit shock known by its namesake system, TRAX. TRAX
allows the back wheel to return to the ground quicker than
normal once it has left the ground, allowing for maximum
traction during long and hard desert races. For instance,
the back wheel of the FC450 should be on the ground in
acceleration bumps in order to drive forward, but it inevitably is off the ground part of the time in most conditions.
The TRAX system uses the weight of the bike (sprung
mass for techies) to compress a series of springs, which
keep the TRAX rebound needle in a normal position. But,
once the bike wheel is off the ground and there is not
enough weight on the wheel, then the TRAX rebound
needle opens and the shock has reduced rebound damping for the time it is off the ground until the wheel contacts
the ground again and, in turn, closing the TRAX needle.
Argubright likes his bike set to stiff, with a pretty normal
balance front to rear, and, simply put, he manages to get
it through the rocky and slippery sections with the intent
of making it up in the higher-speed sections. Suspension
for the entire off-road race is done in-house through the
WP Factory Services division, with all the same services
available to the general public.
Keeping in mind this bike is purposed to ;y across the
western deserts at Mach speed with an extremely talented
individual behind the bars, we went into this test expecting
not to appreciate everything this bike had to offer. Now,
we like to think of ourselves as experts when it comes to
motorcycles and are very hesitant to admit when we are
wrong. In this one instance we were dead wrong! Every
test rider, no mater what speed—and there is a huge variance in speed, not to mention age—could appreciate
everything Argubright’s Husqvarna had to offer. The engine
was strong but not intimidating off bottom, with a smooth
