power and aesthetics
There is no doubt that we here at Dirt Bike are the epitome of overindulgence. Who
else can take a Rembrandt and attempt to doll
it up so it works better for a larger audience?
Yes, we consider the Husqvarna FE501S to be
the upper echelon of true hard-core dual-sport
machines. It’s a bike with few equals; it is the
biggest, strongest and best handling of the real
street-legal dirty bikes. But, we cannot leave
it be, as we spend countless hours exploring,
conquering and dancing over terrain that constantly screams for a bit more throttle response
and suspension that can take the hack, chew
on boulders and smooth the terrain. Our
hands demand a little less vibration, and the
dual-sport accoutrements require slimming,
as we’ve shed the turn signals when brush
cleaned them off at the joint.
What follows is a two-month attack plan that
will make us smile just a bit wider and allow
our pedestrian abilities to tackle harder and
more viscous terrain with more efficiency while
using less effort!
