Keeping sand out of your airbox requires some porous foam, and then you simply
plug up places where sand can get flung. Side-panel vents and right behind the air
filter where it draws air are two crucial spots. The porous foam lets in the air but
keeps out the big stuff.
A filter skin is a very good way to protect your motor. It’s one more layer over the
air filter, still allowing it to breathe, yet wards off sand particles that can get sucked
right through your filter and into the engine.
