MSR’s Mav-1 helmet uses a poly-carbonate shell and a moisture-wicking liner engineered with the racer in
mind. The Mav is Snell approved, features ventilation ports throughout the
shell and vent channels through the
EPS liner. It also has a large eye port
for visibility and goggle room. The
moisture-wicking liner is completely
removable and washable. A drawstring helmet bag is included.

AF-X HELMETS FX- 21
The FX- 21 starts with an aerodynamic
shell of composite poly-alloy that has a clear
coat over the paint and graphics. The energy-absorbing liner of lightweight EPS has an in-molded
“cone-head” protection system. The cloth comfort
liner is removable, washable, hypoallergenic
and antimicrobial nylon.

6D HELMETS ATR-1
The ATR-1 is an impressive example of technology. It’s a Kevlar and carbon fiber composite fiberglass shell. With an EPS liner has channels for venting that 6D calls Air-Gap technology. The comfort liner is Cool-Max fabric
and is removable for washing, and there are emergency-release ear pads.
But, the real reason for the helmet’s expense is the ODS (Omni-Directional
Suspension). The ATR-1 incorporates a divided EPS liner. Between the two
EPS liners is an array of hourglass-shaped elastomeric isolation dampers.
ODS allows the inner liner to move slightly independent of the shell and outer
liner to absorb rotational impacts. In case of direct impacts, the hourglass
elastomeric dampers act like a rapidly escalating spring rate. The helmet
comes with a helmet bag and has a three-year limited warranty.

AGV AX- 8 EVO
The design of the
AX- 8 looks very
European, with a
smooth shell that
is made with lay-
ered fiberglass, Kevlar
and carbon fiber. The shell has front and rear air vents that
work with channels molded into the EPS for effective venting.
Inside the helmet is new, thicker, Dry-Lex-covered padding
for more comfort.
